BREAKING: We won't arrest Leaders of Arewa Youths For Security Reasons - AGF Reveals

The federal government has finally spoken out on why they're yet to arrest the leaders of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), over issuance of quit notice to Igbo residents in the Northern part of the country.

Recall that there was a quit order issued to the Igbo people in the North by the Arewa Youths, to vacate the region on or before Oct 1 this year.
...And the federal government is yet to arrest the people who sponsored the order which was marked by several quarters as treasonable offence.

However, The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) speaking with newsmen in Abuja, said the federal government did not go after sponsors of the quit notice because of security implications.


The AGF did not state categorically the security implications, but he further blamed the rift between him and the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu over prosecution of high profile cases on negative media reports.

In the same development, the AGF was the one who filed an application seeking the federal high court Abuja to revoke the bail conditions it granted to the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kalu.

Malami said Kalu had violated his bail conditions granted to him under health ground, therefore he should be returned back to prison.
