Dear Minister of Foreign Policy,
US Government,
US GOVERNMENT SHOULD COMPEL NIGERIA TO OBEY INT'L LAWS AND LET BIAFRA GO
It is with great concern over the fragile state of peace in Nigeria in particular and entire Africa as whole due to the heated atmosphere in Nigeria resulting from the insistence of Biafra people worldwide under the umbrella name of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) that their political sovereignty lost in 1914 when British colonial forces invaded them and force them into Nigeria; that I, Mazi Onyebuchi Eze, a concerned African serving as a Journalist with Family Writers Press International in Nigeria is calling on United States of America government through this open letter to wade in and compel Nigeria government to respect international laws and protocols governing self-determination and allow Biafra go peacefully so that peace can reign again in Africa and the world at large.
It is no longer a thing of doubt that the petitions, protests, rallies and requisitions of Biafrans under IPOB for a demand of Biafra people to have Nigeria government conduct a referendum for them to decide their political future have reached the desk of American government and other G7 nations of the world. Do you know that instead of Nigerian government to respect the international community and its laws stipulated for handling self determination by heeding to the call to organize a referendum for Biafra, Nigerian government has defiantly chosen undemocratic process of brutal clampdown against Biafra agitators and killing thousands of the people of Biafra over Biafrans' demand for the said referendum?
Dear American government Foreign Office, an open example of the undemocratic brutal clampdown of Nigerian government against Biafra people was done when the people of Biafra gathered in their ancestral city of Port Harcourt in Southern Biafra to join United States citizens to celebrate the inauguration of Donald Trump as 45th American President, a rally which the people of Biafra duly notified law enforcement agencies of the occupational government of Nigeria before the IPOB/Trump rally of January 20, 2017 with a certified copy of the notice dated January 18, 2017 sent to American Embassy in Nigeria.
Nigerian government as usual deployed its trigger-happy soldiers to the venue of the IPOB/Trump inauguration rally in Port Harcourt and massacred dozens of Biafra civilians in the rally and took away their corpses to an unknown destination. The height of insult to American government by Nigeria army on the instruction of Nigerian government was when the lawless military boys snatched all the American flags, Russian flags, Israeli flags and Biafran flags on the possession of Biafra people during the rally and burnt the flags including that of America in a broad daylight. The burning of the American flag in front of the onlookers then made people began to ask if Nigeria government is at war with American government or what?
Dear American government foreign office, as Nigerian government has continued showing total disrespect to the international laws due to high rate of human right abuses, it is time for United States of America to override all the protocols governing sovereignty of nations as it concerns Nigeria by compelling Nigeria government to organize referendum for Biafra without further delay or just carve out Biafra territories out of Nigeria. It has become necessary for US government to do this because Nigeria government cannot be enjoying international law of sovereignty of nations in one hand, whereas it disrespect another international laws and protocols governing self-determination on the other hand.
Dear American government foreign office, as it is at the moment, Nigeria government has declared systematic open war against American government because America Embassy in Nigeria refused to endorse their obnoxious declaration of IPOB as terrorist organization. Nigeria government even hired protesters who gathered in front of America government Embassy in Abuja Nigeria and accused American government of all manner of evil doing against Nigeria in a way of blackmailing White House just because US rejected the move to be dragged into Nigeria government executive impunity and lawlessness.
American government could be few days away from writing its name on the sand of history by taking a bold step to end executive impunity and lawlessness in Nigeria and thereby override the Nigerian government hideout in impunity and lawlessness which is sovereignty of Nigeria and mandate Nigeria government to let Biafra go peacefully. Heaven will not fall if White House take this drastic step because Nigeria is not stronger than North Korea, Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan which US government settled their matter some years ago when their lawlessness reached a condemnable crescendo. American government as the police of the world must not continue to allow Nigeria government operate in total lawlessness as it is at the moment because any injustice against Biafra people in Nigeria is threat to justice everywhere in the world, including Americans in particular.
Dear American government foreign office, make haste and compel Nigeria government to organize referendum for Biafra. Let not Nigerian government be allowed to continue to sing all over the world that Biafra agitation is an internal affairs of Nigeria. Nigerian government has massacred thousands of Biafra people over Biafra agitation instead of using the democratic process of pacifying the people in the beginning of the agitation or at best organizing a referendum for them to decide their political future. American government can never continue to condone evils of Nigeria government under the hideout of the useless right to sovereignty which Nigeria government has desecrated by declaring the position of United Nations, European Union, United States government inconsequential to Nigeria government as Nigeria government desperately and lawlessly declared IPOB members as terrorist organization when they have never attacked or killed anybody except their worldwide protest in demanding for Biafra referendum.
I am earnestly expecting US government to wade into Nigeria/Biafra question before it snowball into a disastrous conflict in Africa. No people in the world whether in America, Europe or Africa should be kept in a country without their acceptance of such nation including Biafra people. As Self determination and referendum is good in Europe, America and Asia, so it is good for Africa and Biafra in particular.
