The Customs officials on Friday found 1.3 million dollars in luggage at Dusseldorf Airport. Police said that they have started investigating whether the money is connected with drug trade, since most of the money was in small notes. The notes were found in the luggage of two travellers who were flying to Turkey. The men, who both live in western Germany, have been released after questioning. ENYINNAYA Abaribe, Senator representing Abia-Central Senatorial District on Friday signed the bail bond of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu. A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Tuesday granted Kanu’s bail on health grounds. The IPOB leader was granted bail after part of the charges filed against him and three others – Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi – were struck out by the court. Justice Binta Nyako while ruling on the bail application barred Kanu from granting press interview while on bail. She also warned the IPOB leader against participating in any rally or found in a crowd of more than 10 persons during the course of his bail. Kanu’s lawyers had said on Thursday they are working hard to perfect his bail conditions before the week runs out.

A source close to him told DAILY POST exclusively that Kanu had vowed to remain in Kuje prisons with his co-accused persons. A Yenagoa Magistrate’s Court in Bayelsa State has freed 44 detained members and leaders of the Indigenous People of Biafra. The Presiding Magistrate, Penawei Mukoro, on Tuesday, dismissed the three counts of conspiracy, breach of public peace and unlawful gathering levelled against them (suspects) by the police. The magistrate, who noted that the case against the detained 44 IPOB members had a ‘no-case submission’, subsequently discharged and acquitted the accused persons.

No fewer than three policemen and four residents of the Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State lost their lives during encounters with some gunmen suspected to be militants. PUNCH Metro learnt that the three policemen, attached to the Lagos State Special Anti-Robbery Squad, lost their lives last week after the gunmen abducted a Chinese expatriate. The operatives had engaged the gunmen in a shootout when the three policemen were killed. Another resident was also hit by a stray bullet and died on the spot. The Federal High Court judge, Justice Binta Nyako, who is currently dragging the Nigerian judiciary in the mud over Nnamdi Kanu’s (leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB) case, was appointed by Muhammadu Buhari, the Nigerian President, a man who had in 1983, through a coup, committed treason without being convicted nor charged till date. Abdulmumuni Abiola, a son of the acclaimed of the 1993 presidential election, Chief MKO Abiola has declared that his father was betrayed by his own kinsmen. Abdulmumuni said Abiola’s kinsmen literally killed his and shared his meat. Abiola is a native of Ogun State, south west Nigeria. Speaking with Punch, Abdulmumuni said the family was not interested in the clamour in some quarters that the late business mogul should be posthumously conferred with the title of the former president.
