Tension As Former CBN Governor Soludo, Utomi & Other Igbo Professionals Meets Nnamdi Kanu In Prison Group of prominent Igbo professionals led by a former Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Charles Soludo today met up with Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), in prison and would later converge for a press conference at Chelsea hotel in Abuja by 3pm today, to relay the feedback of their visit. Also part of the group is Pat Utomi, a Nigerian professor of political economy and management expert. Kanu was arrested in October 2015 and subsequently detained by the Buhari led Federal government for treason. He was arraigned before Justice Adeniyi Ademola at a Federal High Court in Abuja. The judge granted him bail which the federal government refused to implement. South Africa Deports 97 Nigerians While the Nigerian government criticises South Africa’s handling of recent xenophobic attacks on Nigerians, the South African Government has deported 97 Nigerians for committing various offences in the country. The property of several Nigerians and other sub-Saharan Africans have been destroyed across South Africa in xenophobic attacks that have been condemned by various governments. While asking its citizens to stop the attacks, the South African government has also blamed illegal immigrants from Nigeria and other countries, as well immigrants who commit crime for the attacks. The government has thus decided to clamp down on such immigrants. The 97 deported Nigerians landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on Monday night in a chartered aircraft with the registration number GBB710 from Johannesburg. BIAFRA: MAGISTRATE COURT STRIKES OUT APPLICATION FOR "STAND OUT" PRESENTED BY NIGERIA GOVERNMENT

The Magistrate Court in Port Harcourt Rivers State, have on the 1st day of February 2017 strike out the application for "STAND OUT" filed before the Court by the prosecuting counsel of the Nigeria Government, against the Indigenous People Of Biafra who were abducted by the Nigeria force men following the Trump 21 Million Mega Rally in Port Harcourt. This ruling was made after, the prosecuting counsel failed to file for "A Written Address" on the 23rd of January 2017 as the Court advised. The presiding Magistrate Andrew Jaja stated that "Respect Is A Reciprocal" and as the prosecuting counsel refused to respect the court order, he therefore strike out the application "To Stand Out". The defending counsel of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, Barrister S.C Eze has opposed the application for Stand Out, referred the court to the Exhibits before the Court, and argued on why the Court should grant the defendants bail, as they will not jump bail.
